An Enchanted Italian Wedding With Woodland Fairytale Vibes

Don’t you just love when a wedding venue’s natural beauty speaks for itself? A cliffside vista, a classic red barn, or in this case a grand Italian staircase?

Often, less is more when it comes to gorgeous event spaces such as these, and we’re applauding this Italian couples’ great execution of the enchanted garden in Italy look. With light pouring in down the fairytale staircase, and greenery scattered about, the whole woodland scene photographed by Serena Genovese Photography is purely magical.

Just as beautiful was their reception to follow: an al-fresco dinner on a long farm table (my own personal favorite set-up for an intimate affair) and dancing under twinkling cafe lights & moonlit night sky.

Our Love Story

We met in Venice during a hot summer day of 2007. We shared the first moments surrounded by friends, art and rock music. Our respective best friends were dating but after about a month the situation was reversed and we started our wonderful love story.

Ilaria, for Andrea’s 30th birthday, decided to pursue his big dream: see the northern lights. So, in November we took a couple of planes and reached the far north of Sweden.

Among snowy and fairy landscapes, in the magical evening of November 24th, the aurora manifested itself to the maximum of its magnificence. At that precise moment, Andrea kneeled down to ask the fateful question. In a succession of incredulity, smiles and tears, we promised to the universe our commitment to each other.

The Dress & Attire

Ilaria wanted a fluid, essential wedding dress with clean lines but absolutely not classic. Andrea dreamed of a suit with dark natural tones characterized by rough fabrics. We chose clothes that could fully represent us during our big day and we were really happy with the final result!

The Venue & Planning

The most important aspect for us was to be able to consecrate our love surrounded by the majesty of nature. A marriage of natural tones, simple but spontaneous wildflowers, wood, raw fabrics and the soft light of candles. We chose an intimate ceremony in a centuries-old park at the heart of Colli Euganei: Frassanelle, an ancient residence of the Counts Papafava dei Carraresi.

Favorite Moments

The ceremony of course! Celebrated at the base of a wonderful trachyte staircase.

But also all the other moments spent with the most important people of our life, such as the candlelight dinner with the moon in the background, or the dances during the post-dinner concert. Moments that will remain forever in our hearts.
