Rainy & Romantic Parisian Elopement Inspiration

“Actually, Paris is most beautiful in the rain” Lea Seydoux’s character tells Owen Wilson’s as they romantically meet by happenstance on a stormy bridge across the Seine.

Owen Wilson’s protagonist in Midnight in Paris (always and forever one of my favorite films) idealized Paris, in the 1920s, in the rain as the ideal time and place to be – and we can’t help but agree. Having lived in Paris many-a-seasons, I can tell you that nothing is more romantic than a Summer stroll through rainy Paris, much like this elopement inspiration from Christine Grace Photography.

As she so aptly puts it, couples from around the world flock to the City of Love every year to elope, and who could blame them? The gorgeous city streets, with landmarks aplenty, the endless choices for romantic dinners and drinks & unmatched fashion…I could go on and on.

The best part is, you don’t have to lament if your wedding-day forecast is looking grim – as seen here, Paris in the rain provides empty space for those gorgeous wedding portraits.

From Christine Grace Photography

Every year, couples from all around the world travel to Paris to elope in the City of Love. It’s no surprise that the summer months are the most popular time to visit France but I have always dreamed of capturing the beauty of Paris in the fall. As the crowds start to clear, the city becomes so peaceful and the misty, overcast days seem to add to the dreamy, romantic atmosphere.

This past October, I finally had the opportunity to travel to Paris, so I gathered a team of incredible vendors to put together a styled shoot that would highlight this feeling of awe and romance. We wanted to incorporate neutral tones as well as warm autumn colors that would complement the Parisian backdrop, including the famous Eiffel Tower.

The Fashion & Beauty

To go with the romantic and timeless feel of the shoot, our bride Alyssa wore an elegant lace wedding gown from Daarlana Couture paired with a long, flowing veil from Sash and Veil London. Isabelle Reda from Onorina Jomir Beauty added a soft up-do and used natural colours and warm tones to complete this graceful fall-inspired look.

The Florals

Gwenda created a stunning bouquet, featuring light pink blooms, white roses, and a mix of delicate wildflowers.
