Wowee! We’ve been spoiled with stunning elopements lately on Bridal Musings! And this one, set on the cliffs above the sparkling Amalfi Coast, is yet more inspiration to make you not just settle for, but rather dream immensely of eloping.

Fabio & Manon chose a spot above the charming cliffside village of Ravello that was uniquely their own. While some of the most beautiful wedding venues do in fact reside in Ravello (which you can see in these real weddings here), both free-spirits and lovers of nature, Fabio & Manon found a spot in the open air to be surrounded by nature and enjoy all the breathtaking views one could imagine.

As we advised to so many of our couples transitioning to elopements and smaller affairs, having an intimate wedding – maybe just a few of you – allows you to trek further. Without older guests & little ones – for better of for worse – you can find stunning spots like these (or our Scottish inspiration from yesterday), only accessible to a few.

Our Love Story

We met in Dubai on a business trip. We live in Dubai, now.

The proposal happened when we organized an excursion to this very location. Two days before the celebration we saw the beautiful landscape and we thought it would be the right set for a wedding as we liked…Fabio is a native of Scala, near Ravello, which can be seen from the top of these mountains, the Lattari Mountains.

The Vendors

The choice of the photographer and the videographer was a very happy choice because both are lovers of trekking, and the photographer himself helped us discover this refuge. We also love their style very much.

The wedding planner also knows the Amalfi coast very well because she has been working there for many years, and she was very quick to organize everything in just two days.

We asked the photographer and videographer exactly what they achieved: to capture spectacular views, intimate corners, sky, sea and mountains around us, the details of the decorations…and to have fun with us. They succeeded, according to us.

The Destination

We chose to get married in that place because it is unique. From the 1000 meters high mountains, the Amalfi coast and Ravello – the neighboring town – can be seen from the photos. The atmosphere of the refuge enchanted us. The square with the Madonna and the bell seemed to us a corner made especially for us.

The Ceremony

The ceremony took place with a symbolic rite and an exchange of promises and aneslli. It was celebrated by the wedding planner in front of a tee pee-style backdrop, decorated with roses, pampas grasses, ferns and lunaria. The boho-style bouquet was made with roses, eryngium, ferns and pampas grass as well.

The Planning

Our wedding was the first to be celebrated in that location, therefore only ours and unique. For couples who want to get married on the Amalfi coast, we suggest they also find special places like this. I recommend that you rely on our wedding planner Our budget was reasonable. We hired some equipment, but we took others from the equipment of the refuge. The advice is to rely on people who know the place and who have been working there for a long time. We didn’t make the honeymoon because we live in Dubai and the coastal one was our trip for this summer. After a few days in Ravello and Capri we returned to Dubai.

The Wedding Style

For the colors, we stuck to those that harmonize with nature, rocks and wood. We chose a palette from antique pink to terracotta. Also for the mise en place, we chose terracotta vases and copper details, such as the Moscow mule cup that followed us throughout the event and the cutlery. For the stationery, we chose a fern design because we were in a woodland of ferns. The menu was characterized by typical local dishes.

Favorite Moments

A fantastic moment was the picnic-style breakfast at dawn. Exciting. The ritual, beautiful because we exchanged our promises looking into each other’s eyes with a light wind that caressed us and overlooking the panorama. A passage of a flock of sheep that we did not expect. The party after lunch, where we sang, danced and played football!
