This Swiss Monastery Gets A Modern, Monochromatic Wedding Design

We love when old-world wedding venues get a clean, modern makeover. Not because that’s our taste or preference, but it gives our couples the inspiration & permission to give any venue the wedding design of their dreams.

In this instance, we find a gorgeous Swiss monastery in a monochromatic theme. With modern, minimalistic wedding decor in contrasting shades of ivory & black, the makeover is stunning. Black tapered candles stand out while white Anthurium add a natural element to an otherwise edgy wedding design.

And we can’t let you scroll on without mentioning the inclusion of one of our favorite up-and-coming wedding dress designers: Murashka. Featured in our modern wedding dresses like Princess Diana’s, we adore Murashka’s trendsetting collection.

An intimate wedding with puristic design.

This wonderful shoot took place in a former monastery in Switzerland in the light-flooded staircase.

The idea was a wedding for a modern couple who love design, especially interior design. The decoration was deliberately kept minimalistic. In addition, the breathtaking wedding dress from the Russian designer – Murashka, which we received from the stylish bridal store – Two Souls. The owner Nicole Strasse also put together and designed the unique decoration, her flair for design is totally visible. My goal was to make the pictures modern, elegant but still with a romantic touch and also to pay attention to the dress.

We start with the first look and then with intimate vows. We use the unique location inn – and outdoors for the couple’s shoot. The modern and unique bridal bouquet is from the talented ladies from Awina.
