Hello lovelies,

I've been totally blown away by the creativity, craftiness and sheer attention to detail of Emily and Aaron's beautiful wedding. Highlights from their backyard style reception include even more glorious pom poms (as seen adorning the aisle in Part 1) eclectic, mismatched vintage furniture, ribbons, streamers and a children's den. As well as a delicious looking dessert table and mason jar favours with cute mini pom poms attached!

Here's Emily with all the details:

Our wedding  colours were navy, rose, champagne, and robins egg blue. We wanted the wedding to be as comfortable as a home. With the help of Melissa at Pow Wow Vintage we created conversation areas throughout the reception site. I wanted everyone to be able to mingle without being tied down to table for the whole night. For the ceremony area we used vintage church pews mixed among other casual seating.

Eclectic, Homely Decor

All the centerpieces, like the tables, were different. We used a mix of flowers, succulents, and pom poms for the floral displays. We also used a mix of books and other tchotchkes (in our wedding colors of course) to create the homey feel. My favorite has to be the 4 busts of Washington, Lincoln, T. Roosevelt, and B. Franklin, originally men’s cologne bottles.

My favorite DIY had to be a set of photo blocks I created. I was able to stencil our last name on the side and fill the rest of the sides with photos from out engagement session.

We had heavy appetizers all night. This worked out beautifully. Not only were there a dozen choices to choose from but the guests were not stuck at a table for 1 hour+ for a dinner service. Everyone is able to mingle and eat at their leisure.

On our dessert table we had a variety of different cakes including: red velvet w/ cream cheese frosting, lemon pound cake w/ blueberry glaze, coconut cake, cookies and cream cake, chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse. We also have mint and rose flavored cookies.

Wedding Photography

As a wedding photographer myself (check out Emily's gorgeous photography here) this of course was the hardest and easiest choice. I have had the privilege of knowing, and working with, Susan Yee for several years now and knew she would be a perfect fit for the day. She brings such a beautiful photographic eye and a wonderful personality. With Susan working her magic all day, I did not have an ounce of worry that the photographs would be nothing short of spectacular.

Spectacular is a perfect word to describe these stunning images, as well as this creative, colourful and oh so fun wedding!

Many congratulations to Emily and Aaron, hope you're enjoying married life to the fullest. Thanks for sharing your day with us.

Huge thanks also to the talented lady behind the lens, Susan of En Pointe Photography.
