I'm so excited to share this elegant shoot that I worked on last year with some of the UK wedding industry's finest (and loveliest) vendors.

You may have already seen it in the summer issue of the oh so chic Reverie magazine (or you may have seen this excitable post by me telling you all that it'd been featured.)

Either way, it's my turn to share the gorgeousness that was our bridal beauty shoot. Hurrah!

The Inspiration

The aim of the shoot was to create classic, bridal beauty tutorials & soft, romantic bridal imagery to inspire a wide variety of brides. Whether you're a DIY bride looking for detailed steps to recreate the looks yourself or a bride who'd rather be pampered by professionals on her big day.

We also took into consideration the transition from day-time bridal beauty to a more glamourous night-time, reception look. Because why have just one gorgeous bridal look when you could have two?!

Nonsuch Mansion

Nonsuch Mansion is a Georgian gem set in the heart of 300 acres of sumptuous parkland in Surrey, England. It is a spectacular venue with beautiful, high ceilings, sweeping staircases and manicured grounds.

The bridal suite was the perfect space for our shoot ~ it has a real boudoir feel to it with an ornate dressing table, a chaise lounge for reclining on and lots of natural light.

The getting ready part of your wedding is such a special time filled with anticipation, giggles and bubbles with your bridesmaids and closest family members. I think it's wonderful that Nonsuch Mansion has created such a feminine and welcoming space for brides to get ready in.

Severin Hubert of The Hepburn Collection

I know from personal experience that Sev has a magic touch as he styled my hair to perfection on my wedding day (and was a dream to work with, really listening to exactly what I wanted for my big day look) and I've admired every single style he and his team have created ever since.

From vintage marcel waves to modern up dos, Sev is a true artist and he and his partner in all things beautiful, Roz, his wife, are two of the loveliest people in the industry.

Make up artist, Mariam Jensen

Mariam is a celebrity make up artist hailing from LA, she's worked with a client list that would blow your mind but she's unaffected by it all, to her each bride she works with deserves to look like a goddess on their wedding day. And they really do ~ they glow from the inside out (maybe it has something to do with Mariam's expertise in airbrush foundation!)

Photos by Dasha Caffrey Photography

Dasha has such a timeless, natural style of photography. She is an expert at capturing special moments and emotions at weddings but she is also well known in the industry for her ability to capture the beauty all around her, be that in high fashion, editorial bridal shoots, a bouquet of flowers or a blushing bride applying her make up.

The Bridal Style

Sofia, our model bride, wore delicate silk and lace lingerie from Love By Susie and Very Fabulous as she styled her hair and applied her make up. She also wore two exquisite bridal gowns by designer Clinton Lotter (available exclusively in the UK at Blackburn Bridal Couture).

I chose a light and airy polka dot dress for the romantic, innocent look and a figure hugging coffee coloured satin and ivory lace gown for the glamourous evening reception look. A pair of round toed ivory heels from Freya Rose, made of the softest leather and with a golden insole, completed both looks.

So as not to detract from the gorgeous hair and make up, accessories were kept to the bare minimum. A pair of sparkly, statement earrings from Olivier Laudus were all that was needed to finish off the glamourous, chic look perfectly.

Simple DIY Florals

The bouquets and arrangements were handmade by myself on the morning of the shoot. I kept it simple with soft, fluffy baby’s breath, lavender and blush pink roses tied with lace and silk ribbon.

I have a slight obsession with polka dots so the tiered, polka dot tulle Clinton Lotter dress was a dream come true! Wedding Dress of The Week worthy, indeed.

Next week I'll be sharing the step by step tutorials so you can achieve these gorgeous looks at home!

I have to say a GREAT BIG thank you to the fantastic team who were involved in this shoot. I think you'll agree they all did an amazing job. Please do leave some love for them in the comments if you've been inspired, it would be so wonderful to hear from you.
