Is there anything more awesome than a bride with a bow and arrow?

Actually, yes. Throw in a noble steed, a gorgeous lace gown, thistle flower crowns and an amazing astilbe floral cuff. (Kick ass brides can't carry their bow, arrow and a bouquet, after all!)

I adore this styled shoot from With Love & Embers Photography. It was inspired by the legendary English love story between Robin Hood and Maid Marian.

(Cue that epic Bryan Adams song and a montage of sweeping shots of Sherwood Forest, Kevin Costner releasing arrows of fire and Maid Marian sporting a dodgy perm.)

Couples planning relaxed, woodsy weddings, lovers of soft pinks paired with gorgeous greens plus fans of The Hunger Games and Disney Pixar's ‘Brave' – this one's for you!

 From The Photographers…

When we started to discuss putting together a wedding styled shoot, we immediately knew we wanted the shoot to be as pure, raw, lovely and simple as possible. The roll of our bride needed to be both strong and feminine at the same time. The story of Maid Marian and Robin Hood instantly came to mind. Not only is Maid Marian gorgeous, delicate and feminine, but she also has such an independence and strong-will that we couldn’t help but fall in love with. Their love story is classic, one that we felt we could simply touch without having to really divulge in the entire story, which served perfectly as we wanted our shoot to capture just a glimpse of our bride getting ready for her wedding day.

The wedding of Maid Marian and Robin Hood that we chose wasn’t that of a large cathedral church, but a simple woodland wedding filled with beautiful florals and lace. Little Miss Lovely did such a fantastic job creating a bridal gown for this shoot and of course Sullivan Owen knocked it out of the part with her gorgeous bouquets and floral crowns. Our invitation search didn’t take long at all, in that as soon as we came across Shhh My Darling’s ‘We Smell The Same’ suite there was no better choice. The artwork is so young at heart, yet absolutely beautiful, and we couldn’t help but love the connection of the fox, since Dinsey’s famous version of Robin Hood has their Robin and Marian characters as foxes. Styling this shoot with such talented vendors allowed it to evolve perfectly and we sincerely felt that by the end we had captured the pure love that Marian embodies and the anticipation of her vows of everlasting love.

Beautiful isn't it?

Many thanks to With Love & Embers and the creative team behind this enchanting shoot for sharing it with us today.

Are any of you lovelies planning a Robin Hood or Hunger Games inspired wedding?

I just love arrow motifs at the moment. That delicate arrow necklace is so darling!
