The Gibson Roll is one of our favourite hairstyles of recent years, and brides have really made it their own.
A kind of classic style of rolling up your hair at the nape of the neck (not quite as high as a French twist but a gorgeous choice of low bun), we just love how it can be really tight and vintage or soft and rustic.
As always we aim to give you guys inspiration for your wedding day hair, so we’ve rounded-up 20 gorgeous Gibson Roll styles for you to swoon over, pin your favourite and show your hairstylist.
And we reckon there’s something in there for almost all of you!
Try It At Home
If you’re planning to do your own wedding day hair, or you want to try it out first at home to see if it suits you (hair trials can be pricey!) we’ve found some really good DIY tutorials online.
It was really hard to find bridal images of Gibson Rolls on natural or afro hair, but we did come across this great tutorial Double Gibson tutorial by vlogger, Igbo Curls. (If you have afro hair and have tried this style – we’d love to see a pic!)
Perhaps the easiest step-by-step we came across was this DIY Gibson tuck on Beautylish.
But the queen of Gibson Rolls in our book, is lifestyle blogger, Freckled Fox aka Emily. She’s got lots of helpful tutorials, like a Double Gibson, a Gibson Tuck, an easy Headband Tuck (this is a great one if you’re not good at styling your own hair, but want to see if the look suits you) and a super pretty Twisted Crown.
And now for the inspiration – don’t forget to pin your favourites!
