A surfeit of skunks, a scurry of squirrels and a parliament of owls… there's something so fun and charming about discovering different collective nouns, so it's the perfect starting point for today's fun and charming real wedding.
After reciting their vows under a willow tree, Jackie & Oliver followed their outdoor ceremony with a cocktail reception (with signature drinks named after their pets) in an industrial farmyard, before taking it into the barn for a beautiful, and entirely personalised, reception.
From the DIY garland and the antique crockery, to the mix and match napkins and the woodland creatures dotted throughout, this wedding packs in so many pretty details.
It's one of those weddings where we see something new every time we scroll through through it, and we think it's one of those weddings that's guaranteed to make you smile!
Wedding Day Snapshot
We could not be any happier with our 70 person wedding!
Throughout our planning process we focused on making the day as personal and comfortable for all of our guests, and we had so much fun designing and executing our ideas together.
We wanted our wedding to be a celebration that reflected the joy we find in animals and nature, and our venue, The Mora Farm, was the perfect setting to host our outdoor fall farm wedding.
Not only was our wedding day beautifully captured by Two Birds Photography, but Jake was also incredibly professional, brilliant with family portraits (especially the kids), and a ton of fun to work with!
Our color palette was inspired by the gorgeous colors of fall with highlights of burgundy dahlias and orange ranunculus among the variety of greens and natural beauty of The Mora Farm right before harvest.
We ordered a variety of greens and flowers in bulk online and arranged all of our own garlands and centerpieces, complete with acorns and pine cones collected from my parent's backyard!
One of our favorite details of the day was our woodland creature decor, as each table was named after a group of animals.
It was really fun to see our guests' reactions to their tables, and some of the animals even ventured their way onto the dance floor and into the photo booth!
Reclaimed with Love Rentals provided the beautiful reclaimed barn wood tables that allowed our guests to have an intimate, family-style meal that was grilled on-site by The Catering Gourmets.
Over the span of two years, we collected china from thrift stores and antique shops, and napkins, oil lanterns, moss, and other decor online.
These details went seamlessly with beautiful, vintage glassware and silverware from Reclaimed with Love Rentals.
We also created our own signature cocktails named after one of our beloved pets, which was a fun way to incorporate them into our wedding day.
We also cannot say enough good things about our band, Bluewater Kings Band, who provided amazing music and an intimate atmosphere the entire day.
We are so grateful for how well everything (even the weather!) came together, and cannot thank our amazing family, friends, and vendors enough!
I just love all the little details – so many fun touches, and you just know they got everyone talking as they took their seats. We're all about adding elements to your wedding that get your guests chatting and mingling!
