How to style a Fall wedding in Italy's Cinque Terre (in rose gold, of course!)

What’s dreamier than the Italian Riviera in summer? Well, the Fall perhaps! With Autumn comes dwindling crowds, delightfully cooler weather and an opportunity to create the dreamiest of Fall colored wedding palettes.

We all can imagine the postcard-perfect pictures of Italy’s Cinque Terre, but what those photos don’t show you is how overwhelmingly crowded the Riviera can be for summertime. Savvy couples wishing to avoid the crowds and still enjoy Cinque Terre’s jaw-dropping cliffside views should consider the shoulder season: as September ends & tourists head home Cinque Terre becomes nearly a private playground for brides & grooms.

Photographer Di Luce e d’Ombra & planner Greta Betton Wedding Planner sought to show off a lesser-seen autumnal view of this enchanting region. With a palette of rose gold & copper, and whimsical assortment of textiles & fashion, we are inspired by this alternative view of the iconic seaside views of Monterosso.

The Riviera has always had a very special place in my heart, the one reserved for childhood memories, so when Daniela Zoccarato, the talented photographer from Di Luce e d’Ombra, came to me with her idea to shoot a styled inspiration in Monterosso, I was eager to jump at the opportunity. She’s the brain behind this operation and the one that brought me and the amazing flower designer Giorgia Peri together, to help with the styling for her project.

The only inspiration we needed was provided by the beautiful landscape of the Cinque Terre, a string of five fishing villages perched high on the Italian Riviera. Monterosso is the largest one, located on hills cultivated with vines and olives. Here the vegetation surrounds the built-up area like a wild embrace to its beautiful beaches.
We chose to portrait a lesser-known aspect of the Riviera, shooting at the beginning of fall, when the tourist are mostly gone and the village reverts back to its peaceful nature.

The Fashion & Beauty

Our bride for the day, Serena, wore a beautiful gown designed from Loredana Perrera. A vintage looking version of a classic, featuring a midi tulle skirt that is the perfect choice for a fun bride that wants to be able to thoroughly enjoy her beach wedding.

Letizia Galliano created a look that suited our bride so perfectly, all the while reflecting the colours chosen as our chromatic guide.

The Florals

For this shoot, we wanted to pair the Mediterranean wilderness with a romantic coral and pink palette. Giorgia Peri, with her vision and impeccable aesthetics, was able to achieve that and so much more. From the bouquet to the stunning table decor, everything she created for the day was unique and stunning. Each detail of the flower arrangement is thoughtfully chosen to tie the whole project together in the most magical way.

The Styling & Details

The main idea was to create an almost bohemian yet still luxurious style, adding sophisticated elements to more relaxed and natural ones. To achieve that we had the regency golden plated cutlery meet the vine branches on the table setting, and a sumptuous cake with a statement-making rose gold tier is simply presented on the pier, facing the sea’s waves.

To top it all off I thought of a seating chart made of acrylic boxes but filled with flowers and placed on the beach, to be decorated with natural elements and fairy lights, with the starry sky above and the mediterranean sea as background.
