Desert weddings & elopements, we think, couldn’t be better suited for celestial inspired details. Not only do the typically rich blue, violet & magenta tones of starry stationery & decor play nicely with the sandy neutral tones of the desert but imagine how well these invites set the tone for the Milky Way-filled sky your guests will enjoy in the midnight desert sky.

For the decor, the team layered dreamy textures from velvet, organza & lace with desert-happy colors like blush, sandy orange, rocky grey & glimmering copper. Popping against the dreamy palette are deep red roses & unique magenta plate ware.

We wanted to capture the natural essence and landscape of mother nature which is why we decided to photograph at Rainbow Basin in Barstow. As a contrast, we focused on bold colors such as magenta, rich teal blues, and orange tones which in many ways was a play on a bohemian celebration. In addition, this boldness made for a bright and refreshing impression while also drawing the eye and amplifying earth’s natural colors.

The use of texture played a significant element as well – the pretty agate stone throughout is perfect for a nature or bohemian-inspired moment; the marbled pattern lends itself beautifully to details and offers a sense of warmth and intimacy while adding to the theme of mixed textures and earthy hues.

The Florals

The florals by Bloom Theory Design were inspired by the golden colors of the desert. The golden tones and pops for blush and pink were inspired by nature’s surroundings, incorporating textures to embody the ambiance for the shoot. For the bridal bouquet, we again took complimentary colors from the vast and rocky landscape. Making use of orange roses as the focal color, we accented with greens, whites and a hint of red.

The Tablescape Decor

Our tablescape elements styled by Events by Cea were a representation of the earthy and rich hues that played throughout the space of Rainbow Basin. We wanted to focus on the bohemian flair that resided there while also bringing in textures such a velvet, satin, bare crystal and agate to bring a level of modern romance.

The Dress & Attire

For the bride, we went with a handmade, original piece by Thida from Shop Blush Elegance. We went for a clean, simple, and fitted silhouette featuring a plunging v neck line and open back. The gorgeous lace detail on the sheer sleeves and back portion coupled with an open back gave this dress a modern yet touch of romantic wedding dress vibe. As for the groom, we went with a classic black tux featuring a velvet coat which gave him a textured and modern look.
