You don’t have to have a big wedding to go big with your florals! Elizabeth & Duston’s gorgeous & intimate Southern wedding has proven to us that even the smallest of guestlists can garner serious statement decor.

Celebrating at Legare-Waring House, a beautiful historic home boasting old oak trees dripping with iconic Spanish moss, the couple married in front of the most magnificent double circle arch. With a seemingly mile-long aisle through the oak grove glittering with white petals and bundles of florals abound this might be the most lavish & beautiful intimate wedding we’ve ever seen.

Of course, such floral feats wouldn’t be right without a gown that awed us even more. Elizabeth’s Amalia Carrara gown still somehow steals the show with a dramatic train and uniquely embellished off-the-shoulder sleeves.

Our Love Story

We met at a boarding school for academically gifted students in our junior year of high school. Right away, we were drawn to each other’s intelligence and drive for academic success. The challenges we faced during those rigorous two years of education laid the foundation of support for each other that we’ve continued to build on for the past decade.

We got engaged in the arboretum of UNC Chapel Hill’s campus on a beautiful spring day. We were both excited and maybe a little nervous too. After Dustin proposed, we spent the rest of the afternoon taking engagement pictures before heading off to a private dinner.

Favorite Moments

The day flew by just like everyone said it would. Our favorite part was spending a few moments alone together right before the ceremony. We didn’t have a first look but we were able to hold hands on either side of a door. It meant so much to be able to talk to each other right before walking down the aisle and it really calmed our nerves.

Advice to Other Couples

Our advice to other couples planning their weddings is to savor every moment. We were both very involved in the process from start to finish. It’s so easy to become so laser-focused on the big day that you forget to stop and smell the metaphorical roses. We were excited for our wedding day to arrive, and when it finally did, everything went perfectly. But we wish that we’d carved out some time that day to just stop and soak it all in instead of going, going, going.
