It's been a while since I featured a chic, classic, timeless wedding so I thought it was about time I did.
Kooky transport, rainbow bridesmaids dresses and tonnes of rustic DIY details are not for everyone. Having a classic, traditional wedding dosen't make a wedding any less special or unique to each couple and I want to showcase just how beautiful they can be.*
Amidst the sea of unique weddings and ideas I feature on Bridal Musings I never want to lose sight of the ‘chic' so get ready for a whole lot of chic and classy in the form of Nick and Kristen's stylish soiree!
Here's what Catey Owen of Radiant Photography had to say:
Kristen is a dentist and Nick is an orthodontist (needless to say, they are not only an attractive couple, but also have perfect teeth). Their wedding day was magical. The weather was perfect and everything from the boutonnieres to the incredible Cathedral of the Sacred Heart was like a movie. Kristen's dream wedding day really was…dreamy. With touches of rustic decor paired with the classy setting of the Jefferson Hotel, it was the perfect balance.
Oh and just so you know there's a little bit of ‘kooky transport'…groom on a segway anyone?
Congratulations to Nick and Kristen, I hope you're always as happy as you look in these beautiful photos!
Here's Kristen with all the details:
Our colour palette was toast, dusty rose and ivory. I wore an A-line dress, sweetheart neckline, beaded belt. The fabric was silk satin and felt like butter. It also had pockets, so perfect! My earrings were Swarovski and my bracelet was from Macys.
My bouquet was made up of hydrangea, peonies, roses, freesias, varigated pittosporum and the bridesmaid's carried hydrangea and roses. The centerpieces included peonies, freesias, snapdragons, lisianthus, ranunculus and roses.
Cards were put in DIY birdcage, the numbers on the table were DIY ~ painted and crackled frames with painted chalkboard interior.
For favors our photo booth had double prints, one print went into a photo guestbook for the guests to sign, the other guests got to keep.
Centerpieces were all low arrangements with low candles so the tables were intimate. There was a toast colored runner across the tables that matched the bridesmaid dresses. Both the Cathedral and Jefferson are so intricately decorated and gorgeous that we didn’t need much additional decorating!
The Wedding Music:
Processional- Canon in D and Trumpet Voluntary
Recessional- Water music and trumpet tune
First Dance- Lucky by Jason Mraz
When asked to share her favourite moment, Kristen said ‘every moment'. And her advice to other brides is to:
Take it all in, look at everyone as you walk down the aisle, smile and don’t lock your knees!
I love that. I can't help thinking that I rushed down the aisle but you really should try and savor that once in a lifetime moment.
So are you having a chic, classic wedding? I'd love to hear all about your pretty plans!
