Hello everybody,

I hope you all had fabulous weekends!

US lovelies, have you got any exciting plans for Wednesday?

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to be here in the US to celebrate the Fourth of July (I might just burst). So I'll show you instead…

Don't you just love the thought of an all American, red, white and blue, festive fourth of July wedding?

How To Throw A Perfectly Patriotic Fete

~ Stars, stripes, polka dots, gingham ~ anything goes as long as it's red, white and/or blue.

~ Get crafty with your friends and family and make some cute DIY coffee filter pom poms to hang from the ceiling.

~ Baskets or brown bags filled with strawberries or cherries are the perfect summer favor. Top with a flag for extra cuteness.

~ Guests can snack Americana style from a popcorn bar* ~ provide them with pretty printed cones, a variety of flavours and some coca cola in vintage glass bottles to wash it all down.

~ Giggling bridesmaids in retro, red dresses with white bouquets + groomsmen with stripy bow ties and stars pin wheel boutonnieres join forces to create one seriously stylish bridal party.  (Totally smitten with that fun idea for a bout!)

~ A bride with gorgeous Lana Del Rey vintage waves and red lipstick would be an added bonus.

~ Don't you think an American flag would be the most perfect photobooth backdrop for a fourth of July wedding?!

~ Oh and no Fourth of July wedding would be complete without a sparkler send off!

* Since coming to the US I've discovered the delights of sweet and salty Kettle corn. Having always requested half sweet and half salty popcorn on cinema trips back in London and been met by weird looks, it's refreshing to find out that I'm not so strange after all.

(Ha! In your face grumpy purveyors of popcorn at Odeon.)

Anyone planning a Fourth of July wedding?

I'd love to hear your stars and stripes ideas for a wonderfully patriotic Americana style wedding!

Psssst….meet me back here a little later for an utterly gorgeous DIY wedding you won't want to miss.
