Hello you gorgeous lot,

Sorry Bridal Musings has been so quiet these past few days ~ Zee and I have taken a VERY last minute trip to Kuwait to visit Zee's family. It's impossibly hot here and the internet is temperamental to say the least* but I'm happy to be back online in any way shape or form.

Okay onto the inspiration…

It doesn't get much brighter, bolder and unique than this modern neon wedding shoot!

Designed and co-ordinated by Bree of offbeat wedding blog, Capitol Romance, and photographed by Lisa Marie of Sweet Tea Photography, it was bound to be all kinds of awesome. They worked alongside a team of talented Washington DC vendors to create a styled shoot that is the complete opposite of traditional, classic and embellished weddings.

Silly string, snow cones, hot pink tulle, post it notes and signature cocktails called ‘Flourecentinis'…what's not to love?

I'm blown away by the bride's outrageously bright make up, va va voom hair and chic, Punk Rock Bride wedding dresses complete with neon accessories. While the groom rocks a highlighter yellow bow tie, shocking green shoelaces and neon sunglasses. (This look is not for the shy or faint hearted!)

The Tabula Rasa was the perfect modern and intimate ‘blank canvas' venue in which Kristen of Mollycat Designs crafted a whole host of creative and budget friendly DIY decor ideas ~ without a (real) flower in sight. Yes, the shoot was completely flowerless!

Additional details included an amazing neon dessert spread by Sugar & Ice DC and brightly-designed paper products by Tabibi Design. While Lisa Marie of Sweet Tea Photography captured all the vibrant details and creative energy of the shoot perfectly.

Such a fun concept ~ a silly string fight after dinner (or used instead of confetti) would be a blast don't you think?! And aren't those hanging installations amazing?

Thanks to Bree of Capitol Romance, Lisa Marie of Sweet Tea Photography and the rest of their creative team for sharing this unique shoot with us today.

Are you incorporating any neon details into your big day? How about any DIY hanging installations?

*This post actually took three times longer than normal! So sadly it'll have to be a one post a day kind of week. Sniff.
