Lace & Coral Farmers Market Wedding

I'm having a bit of a coral moment.

It's such a fun, lively colour and it looks great with a tan.

(I've got my eye on this Essie polish for my next mani pedi!)

Coral is also the perfect hue for modern weddings as it's pretty but not overly girly.

“Don't worry babe, it's not pink it's co-ral.”

So you can imagine my delight at Emmy & Nic's quirky DIY coral wedding in a farmer's market, no less.

Not to mention the fact that Emmy is one chic bride in her fitted lace dress, blinging statement necklace and side swept, half braided hairstyle.

The Theme

Our theme was eclectic with pops of old and new from local antique dealers and markets. The colors were fresh greens and creams with pops of coral. In terms of flowers, we incorporated roses, daisies, carnations, berries, baby’s breath, and a variation of succulent fillers. The tables were lined with burlap and vintage bottles that embraced wild flowers, and tea lights glowed from numerous mason jars.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was preached by Nic’s father, Stephen Ruiz

Décor & Details

All the wedding décor was put together by us, from the table styling, to the designs of the cake, to the ring bearer pillow and flower girl wagon. The parting gifts included “Eat, Drink and Be Married” match books, mini latch-lid jars filled with various types of candy, and photo strips from the photobooth.

The Bridal Attire

Lace of varying creams dressed the bride and bridesmaids and a vintage collaboration of earth tones suited the men in a prohibition theme.

The Photography

Anna Lee of Anna Lee Media is not only OKC’s photographer of the year, she is also a friend of ours and did an amazing job capturing the essence of the evening.

The Refreshments

The drinks of the evening were white and red wines and margaritas, served with an italian pot roast with pasta and seasonal vegetables. The wedding cake was a delicious 5-tier vanilla with buttercream frosting. Each tier decorated in cream-colored fondant roses, polka dots or paisley.

The groom’s cake was triple chocolate and styled to look like an antique radio.

The Wedding Music

The processional music were familiar songs of the time played by the Vitamin String Quartet. The bride entered to “at Last” by Etta James and the recessional was to “Ball & Chain” by Murder by Death. The first dance was to “Bella Donna” by the Avett Brothers.

Personal Touches

From me and my bridesmaid's coral wedges to the antique radio cake, to the groomsmen’s personally engraved pocket watches and our 5-month-old daughter being pulled down the aisle in rustic wagon by the junior bridesmaid. The second our guests entered the venue, they could see parts of our personalities everywhere.
