Trend Alert: Mini Floral Hair Pins

We love spotting a new trend right before it's about to make it big – bridal anklets, wedding tattoos, proposal rings and bridal crowns – we predicted all those micro wedding trends, way back when.

And the latest wedding hair look we think we'll be seeing more of over the next year or two? Oh-so-pretty mini floral hair pins.

Zac Posen, Honor NYC and Jenny Packham all featured them on their catwalks over the last year, and now, our favourite shopping sites like ASOS and Etsy are selling them too.

It's official, tiny budding blooms are having a moment.

I remember these mini pins being a really big deal when I was about 12, (I was obsessed!). Back then though, the tiny rose buds were doused in glitter and adorned a'plenty around our (probably crimped, twisted and severely hairsprayed) hair.

But the modern take on this trend draws more from classic, vintage styles; minimal, soft, and pretty.

Paired with messy fishtail plaits, gibson rolls or low loose buns, just a few little buds can make a big impact to your tresses.

While white and blue have been dominating this trend so far (blue is gorgeous is red hair, while white really brightens up darker locks), soft pinks and peaches look beautiful too, especially paired with matching make-up.

Metallic flowers give a cool stylish take on what is otherwise a rather traditional, English rose style.

Do avoid any harsh tones though, deep purples, dark reds, or bright pinks (along with anything too glittery) might take the trend back to the 90s. While we're big fans of crop tops and slip dresses, butterfly clips and tight twists are not looks that will elegantly translate to modern weddings!
